Things To Do While Waiting

We all know that there are various waiting periods during this process. Unfortunately some of us, me, get to repeat some of the waiting periods. So what do you do while waiting; fix the house, gardening, reading parenting books, these all sound like good ideas to me. I‘m redoing my dossier and updating my homestudy. I was notified Wednesday that most of my documents are going to expire in early June and since I don’t know when I will be going back to court again, I need to redo them and I need to redo them as quickly as possible. I’m kind of stuck, I don’t know when my court date is, will my documents expire before or after my court date, will my documents be OK if they are submitted to the court before they expire even if the court date is after they expire, what if I get a court date and they are not updated, will that delay court yet again? So I’m incurring the additional expense, redoing a lot of my documents and trying to get this done as quickly as possible so if I do get a court date, I will be able to back again. This should keep me busy for at least some of this repeat wait. Take care, Chris

I can really feel your frustration. I'm sorry you are having these continued delays at this stage in the process and your docs are expiring. I haven't yet traveled, but have had to do my docs several times now (FBI clearance 4 times alone!)because of delays. I'm sending big warm wishes that you can get them updated quickly, get your court date, and be back in Kaz soon to get your child.

I think about you EVERY day. I just wanted you to know that I am constantly thinking and praying for you.
I haven't heard anything yet either. It has been 6 months now.
Good news is that I finally got pictures yesterday. It was nice to see her face again and to know she is well. But it was hard to see her and not know when she will ever come home to us.
Hang in there....email me if you need to vent.
Love you!

Hi Chris! For what it's worth, our agency stressed that our documents had to be valid on the court date itself.

We think of you often and hope you are well.

Sara and Julian

P.S. I'm now over half done with the "Apples are from Kazakhstan" book and I'm really liking it!

Hello Chris,
You may recognize my name as a fellow SKM.
Just a heartfelt note to say that you're in my thoughts and prayers.

I am checking your blog daily--each time I wait for the page to open on the computer screen, my heart tugs a bit and I hold my breath hoping to NOT see "Things to Do While Waiting" as the heading. Such hardship and frustration for you! Such sadness that you and your son are missing these days and these weeks and these months together!

Try as best you can to stay strong through this very difficult time of waiting.
Blessings to you and to your son who waits for you.

Hello Chris,
I continue you to check your blog daily, hoping for good news. I continue to keep you in my prayers.

I am writing to gently encourage you to post an update on the status of your adoption. As I've watched the significant changes in Kazakhstan adoptions during the past few months, I have wondered how they specifically impact your adoption journey, and if your agency or you individually have taken action to be grandfathered in, or to connect with a new agency (if I understand correctly that your agency was/is not Hague accredited).
By letting us know where things at at, we can continue to encourage you and support you.
Blessings,
